Modern Aramaic Press

Keeping the Aramaic Language
Alive for Future Generations

Our Mission

Aramaic is not just a language—it’s a living bridge to 3,000 years of human history. Spoken by ancient empires and preserved in sacred texts, this foundational language now faces the risk of fading into silence.

At Modern Aramaic Press, we’re changing that narrative with a contemporary approach. We’ve developed modern teaching methods that adapt Aramaic for today’s learners, focusing on practical, daily use that makes this ancient language relevant for modern times.

Our resources blend academic depth with real-world application, offering interactive tools and culturally rich materials designed for everyday communication. Whether you’re discovering Aramaic for the first time or deepening your existing knowledge, we provide the tools to use Aramaic in daily life.

Together, we can ensure Aramaic remains a living, evolving language for future generations.

“It is most welcome
to have this
introductory grammar
– the first in English –
to Turoyo, the Modern Aramaic
dialect of Tur Abdin (SE Turkey).
Systematically and clearly
presented, and provided
with exercises, it also
has the advantage of being
by a native speaker.”

★★★★★

“Dr Oez’s seminal text enhances
and systematises the Neo-Aramaic
language, which has been analysed
and structured in a modern style.
This method serves as a linguistic
stepping stone into the future,
enriching the culture and identity
of the Tur Abdin people. We hope
that it will help strengthen the
bonds that tie our widely dispersed
communities with their roots.”
